Did you ever have someone teach you a great
time-saving trick, and forever after that you remembered them as you did what
they’d suggested? This morning I was peeling hard-boiled eggs and I thought, as
I always do when I do this, of my sister. It’s just a fleeting thought, a
little smile, and my thoughts proceed along the path they’d be on before.
Her trick: when the eggs are done, drain
the water, put the lid back on the pot, and then shake it five or six times.
Then put in cold water. All the eggs get cracked at once and the water helps
cool them.
I miss my sister – she was a really good
egg.
